About Forth & District Development Trust
The Development Trust is an enterprise created by the community following the publication of a 5 Year Action Plan for the district with the help of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation, committed to involving and being accountable to local people. We look to undertake a wide range of economic, environmental and social activities and services.
As a group, we aim to enable sustainable development in the area and will work alongside the local voluntary sector, public authorities and private sector to that end.
We hope to achieve our goals by making profits through trading and securing buildings and managing assets for the community. These profits are not-for-private benefit or gain or distributed to individuals but will be used to create community wealth and be reinvested with a lasting impact on the renewal and improvement of the area.
“There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work toward the same goals.”

Becoming a Member
By becoming a member of the Development Trust, you are confirming your support for the actions of the Trust whose aim is to make Forth & District a better place to live and work, through a community led plan of action which provides services, amenities and/or financial support to local initiatives.
As a member, if you choose to get involved with our activities and help with the decision-making process to mould the future of the area, your expertise would be gratefully welcomed.
If you are someone who cares about the area but doesn’t have the time to get that involved, we still need your support by becoming a member. By just volunteering when we need you at one of our events strengthens the community involvement.
Care about the area but unable to provide any ‘hands on’ support, then simply complete our Membership Form. By doing just that, gives the Trust the much needed backing when we apply for funding future projects (large and small).
